SWAMP-HOUND - noun

swamp: A tract of wet, spongy land, often having a growth of certain types of trees and other vegetation, but unfit for cultivation. To sink or be stuck in a swamp or something likened to a swamp.

hound: One of any of several breeds of dogs trained to pursue game either by sight or by scent, esp. one with a long face and large drooping ears.

The photos below are worth a thousand words.......
February '07 - Rowan discovering her true swamphound nature. This was our first indication that we had a true swamphound when she insisted on going swimming in the retaining water pond in the middle of February! Sorry for the poor quality image, it was taken by cell phone once we realized what we had on our hands here.
"There's ducks out there!!"

June '07 - Catie dove from the bank (no notice to us whatsoever) into water over her head and made this splash, then came up swimming. Two seconds later, Rowan on her way in after Catie, not wanting to miss out on this fun! Rowan going further in..... "Hey, where did my friend go??"

THERE she is!

Rowan starting her underwater routine, after frogs or something most likely....

And Rowan going underwater some more
Catie on her way out so she can dive off the bank again!
